Job Summary
The full-time, nine-month, tenure track faculty member will have the opportunity to teach college-level nursing lecture, laboratory, and clinical sections, with a focus on pediatric nursing. The successful candidate should be able to work with students from a wide range of academic preparedness and collaborate with other faculty in professional activities. Candidates must exhibit an effective teaching style that supports the use of technology and a diverse student body.
Physical Demands
Ability to stand and lecture for extended periods of time. Ability to perform functions needed on a pediatric nursing unit.
Required Qualifications
Master’s degree or higher in nursing Equivalent of two (2) years fulltime work in clinical practice, with an emphasis on pediatric nursing Current license as an RN in Illinois Two (2) years of teaching experience, community college experience preferred Strong interpersonal skills and positive energy regarding professional education Established ability to work effectively as a team member Experience with electronic medical records Demonstrated skills in effective communication in English, both spoken and written CPR certified Current immunizations as required by clinical agencies
