Job Description
GENERAL STATEMENT OF FUNCTION : A nursing faculty member is directly responsible and accountable for ensuring the fulfillment of educational goals and objectives of the Nursing Program, and ensuring program compliance according to state and national regulatory agencies. Faculty responsibilities require leadership in both academic and technical areas and include meeting student retention goals; participating in educational planning; evaluating student performance; motivating and advising students; and generating program reports as needed. Based on the broad range of responsibilities and the need to be available to students and others, the annual assignment will involve didactic (theory), clinical/lab, or a combination of duties and responsibilities. The individual that serves in this position represent the practical, associate, or both options with a full-time, 10-month faculty contract, with a requirement to be available during summer semesters, as determined by program administrators. Depending on the annual assignment, the nursing faculty member reports to the Year I or Year II Course Coordinator.

Desirable Qualifications
DESIRABLE : (D1) Clinical experience in Maternal Child, Mental Health and/or Adult Health nursing education or clinical/skills performance. (D2) Community college and/or college-level and/or military teaching experience. (D3) Multi-media and/or online instructional delivery experience (D4) Two (2) years of experience within the last five (5) years as an RN in a clinical setting or as an instructor in a similar program with responsibilities for clinical/campus laboratory management duties, teaching basic and/or advanced nursing skills and the direct supervision of students in a clinical setting.
